GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATIONS
COSMETIC PRODUCTS - used in the following applications: (i) As an emollient due to its low toxicity profile and the fact that it confers sophisticated talc like feel to products. (ii) As a solvent for many cosmetic actives, such as sunscreens and fragrances. (iii) In antiperspirants and deodorants where its humectants properties help to retain the natural moisture of hair as well as imparting considerable shine and body. POLYMER ADDITIVE (PLASTICIZING agent). DPGDB is most commonly used in the packaging industry for carton sealing, bookbinding and labeling purposes and in the textile industry for woven as well as non-woven fabrics. Plasticizers are organic compounds that are added to polymers (especially PVC) to facilitate processing and to increase flexibility and toughness of the final product ( brought about by an internal modification of the polymer molecule ). CARRIER for ACTIVE INGREDIENT in paste dispersions used in the manufacture of void fillers and buoyancy aids ( see Benzyldimethylamine and DEGDB ) .
